What I'll miss the most

When I leave for USCG, what I'll miss the most (besides my friends OF COURSE!) is my individuality, the ability to be girly and play with fashion. I don't even care about all the physical fitness and drills and mental beat downs I'm going to take. I'm strong enough to take that. But having to do away with getting to dress fun and keep up with a blog and discover new music and make art, that will all be GONE. Without music and art and fashion, what am I? But then again, that's what I've thrived on for so many years, maybe I'll find out what's really under all that influence.

Just Do It

This may be a huge mistake. I'm leaving soon. Part of me wants to just cut it off now and keep to myself untill I move. But part of me...ohhh part of me. I want to experience everything about you and use up every little piece you have for the time being. I want to disreguard your feelings, because I know my mind is set on leaving, and I don't know if it would hurt you when I pull the bandaid off. Someone once told me that it's better to regret something you did than something you didn't do, and I don't know if I could leave without knowing. To be reckless, or have mercy.

Notebook who?

Who knew Ryan Gosling was such a genius? The spooky retro-halloween-esque sounds mixed with a children's choir...Dead Man's Bones is nothing short of brilliant.

HOH

Bands I'm excited to see at Harvest of Hope this weekend:
Matt Pond PA, Rogue Wave, 7 Seconds, Antiflag, Protagonist, The Loved Ones, Broken Social Scene, Portugal The Man, Port O'brien, Billy Bragg, Japanther, The Mountain Goats, Delta Spirit, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Crime in Stereo, Defiance Ohio, Fruit Bats, Freelance Whales, Jose Gonzalez, Kimya Dawson
And I'm psyched to get dirty and hear new bands that can further enforce the fact that I LOVE MY LIFE!

A Few Good Songs

The Beggars

This song reminds me of you. I love/hate you, and hope everything is going swell. I don't wish you'd get hit by a truck anymore.

Don't Give A Damn

Lately I've been shakin' things up a bit like old times, when our idea of fun was a handle of whiskey to the face and sleeping where we fall. So, in the spirit of the new Runaways movie coming out, here's a little front woman Joat Jett paving the way for chicks in rock and roll. If it wasn't for her half of the indie or punk girl bands wouldn't be taken seriously or even be produced these days.

To bring it full circle, reminisce with me on the Joan Jett of the 90's, Brody Dalle.

Sometime or Another

If you bite your tongue for too long, sooner or later you bite right through. One tequila-infused night can prompt serious word vomit.

Vanilla Sex

NoFX doing a cover of Rancid's Vanilla Sex...figured I'd kick it oldschool today.

Kurt Vonnegut- Breakfast of Champions

"...a planet where the language kept turning into pure music, because the creatures were so enchanted by sounds. Words became musical notes. Sentences became melodies. They were useless as conveyors of information, because nobody knew or cared what the meanings of the words were anymore."

I don't bother to worry about what people think or even what I think anymore, because even though I have my off-days (as does everyone), I will always deep down be happy. All I can think when I take a deep breath and look around is how beautiful everything in the worlds is, especially the ugly things. In a world of so many people and things and animals and possibilities, everything is a novelty.
